What to Expect
Dr. Truong utilizes a revolutionary new tattoo removal procedure called the PicoSure® laser technique. This laser skin rejuvenation procedure can deliver optimal results in breaking up tattoo ink beneath the skin, including difficult to remove colors such as blues and greens. PicoSure® can offer better results in a faster time, along with a rapid post-procedure recovery period.
Whether you are beginning the process of tattoo removal or are simply trying to touch up an already reduced tattoo, Dr. Truong believes that the PicoSure® laser procedure can offer you the best results in the quickest amount of time. PicoSure® is effective enough that the same technology can also be used in scar removal and reduction
During your tattoo removal consultation, Dr. Truong will assess the size and placement of the tattoo you want removed to determine how many treatments may be required. While some small tattoos may be improved in a single treatment, larger tattoos may require multiple sessions for full removal. Dr. Truong will recommend the treatment options he feels will work best for you.
Preparing for Your Tattoo Removal
While PicoSure® laser skin resurfacing can remove some tattoos in a single appointment without damaging the skin, tattoo removal is a surface procedure that relies on the health of the skin for proper recovery.
Most patients will be able to go home shortly after the procedure is over, and Dr. Truong may recommend taking several steps to help ensure your recovery will go smoothly, including abstaining from smoking and increasing exercise. These measures can help ensure that your skin elasticity is at its best to allow for as little recovery time as possible.
Recovery & Results
The area being treated by the laser will likely be tender for a few days after surgery, as well as possibly blistering for a short time. While this may be uncomfortable, any discomfort should be well-managed with medications as well as topical ointments that Dr. Truong may prescribe.
Dr. Truong may recommend that you return for additional treatments depending on the amount of ink left in your skin, so you can feel positive and confident about your long-term results.
